Install our extension to contribute to the Community Archive!
Stream the public tweets you see into the Community Archive, in real time.
We built a browser extension that streams the tweets you see as you browse to the Community Archive.
How It Works (60 seconds)
You browse X/Twitter.
The extension records public tweets already visible on your screen.
It sends tweet data to the Community Archive.
Tools and researchers can query this data in real time.

Why it Matters
Keep your archive data fresh, which makes existing tools like semantic search, Birdseye, and the keyword trends app more useful.
Real-time data unlocks new tools - like maps of discourse, and memetic weather reports - and enables research on how current ideas spread.
Numbers
We’ve gathered 7,000,000+ tweets as of Sep 2025 by asking people to upload their archives. However, keeping tweets up to date is hard because requesting your archive from twitter is a lot of work.
We think that if 1000 people install it we could be archiving 1,000,000+ tweets PER WEEK!

How do we choose what tweets to stream?
The policy we’re adopting long-term is to only stream tweets by accounts that have opted-in. Opting in can happen in multiple ways like via pressing a button on the CA website, installing the extension, or uploading your archive to the CA.
To make sure we have enough data to be useful at the start, we’re starting with a broader policy where we stream tweets from any account that has been mentioned in the community archive. This allows a wide base while preserving some locality - less data from disconnected accounts.
Once we reach 10,000 monthly opted-in users OR 1,000,000 tweets per month, we’ll switch to the opt-in only policy.
FAQ:
Do you stream every tweet?

Can people see my feed?
No. we do not publish who scraped what.
Do we stream locked accounts?
Never.
Can I opt out?
Yes — one click in your CA profile once you log in with your twitter account.
